Export Promotion Agency of Afghanistan

After 30 years the unified Afghanistan Carpet Industry showcased more than 24000 sm2 of carpets all exclusively manufactured in Afghanistan on 26th to 30th of August 2007 in joint cooperation with the Export Promotion Agency of Afghanistan in the luxurious garden of Kabul Serena Hotel.

Suleman Fatimie, President of the Export Promotion Agency of Afghanistan, said: “The realization of this international trade fair in Kabul is a benchmark as it demonstrates Afghanistan's capability of running such an Attractive event gathering more than sixty- five afghan carpet exporters and weavers. Also we had been hosting more than 5000 visitors during those four days. The afghan exhibitors were expressed with great enthusiasm that the visitors and foreign importers purchased and placed orders of more than 4 Million USD. It is an unexpected and overwhelming success and can only be attributed to our afghan weavers as they produce unique pieces of arts: hand-woven, natural dyed, made of the famous Ghazni wool with appealing designs.
